There are many reasons you may want to know how to reason your income tax without doing a full tax return. One reason to do a quick calculation of your tax is to determine when you should do your actual tax return. The first thing you need to know to reason income tax is how much money you made and how much you have paid in taxes. This information can be found on your pay stub or your W2.. Your pay stub should show you how much money you have made. You need to look at the "net" whole because you don't have to pay taxes on certain things like 401K contributions. The other whole you need is how much tax you have paid. Write these 2 numbers down as we will need them later.
Next, you need to frame out all your deductions.
